More Than Aesthetics: Creating a Lifestyle I Can Maintain 🌿✨

Recently I went swimming with my daughter, picked up a new swimming costume, a few hair essentials, and spent the day simply enjoying life.

When I put the swimming costume on, I actually felt good.

Not because I’ve “reached my goal” yet. Not because my body is “perfect.” But because for the first time in a long time, my wellness journey feels realistic, sustainable, and healthy.

My weight loss journey has never been linear. I’ve lost weight. Gained weight. Started over. Felt motivated. Felt exhausted. Felt insecure. Felt confident.

And honestly? I know so many women can relate to that.

This Time Feels Different 💚

This time I’m not trying to punish my body.

I’m not doing extreme diets I e never agree with these.  I’m not trying to lose weight as fast as possible anymore.

Instead, I’m learning how to:

  • Nourish my body properly
  • Understand my digestion
  • Reduce inflammation naturally
  • Move consistently
  • Prioritise hydration
  • Increase my protein intake
  • Create routines I can actually maintain long-term

Because I’ve realised something important:

This cannot just be a “30-day challenge.” It has to become a lifestyle.

Stepping Beyond Aesthetics ✨

Of course aesthetics can be motivating. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel confident in your clothes or happy in your body.

But lately my focus has shifted beyond appearance.

I want:

  • More energy
  • Better digestion
  • Less inflammation
  • Stronger workouts
  • Better mental clarity
  • Long-term health
  • Consistency

I want to feel good from the inside out.

And strangely enough, once I stopped obsessing over perfection, I actually started enjoying the process more.

Motherhood Changed My Perspective 👩🏽‍🍼

Being a mum changes the way you think about health.

I want to be healthy not just for now — but for years to come.

I want energy to run around with my daughter. I want to feel strong. I want to feel mentally clear. I want to create healthy habits she grows up seeing.

That’s why I’ve been focusing more on:

  • Fruit-filled mornings 🍓
  • Hydration 💧
  • Protein-focused meals 🍗
  • Pilates & movement 🧘🏽‍♀️
  • Natural healing 🌿
  • Reducing stress
  • Consistency over perfection

What I’m Loving Right Now 🛍️

Some of the things helping me on my wellness journey lately:

Research Supports Sustainable Habits 📚

Research consistently shows that sustainable lifestyle changes are more effective long-term than extreme dieting.

According to Harvard Health, focusing on realistic nutrition habits, movement, sleep, and stress management creates more sustainable long-term health outcomes compared to restrictive dieting approaches.

Final Thoughts 🌊✨

This journey is no longer about trying to become smaller as quickly as possible.

It’s about becoming healthier. Stronger. More confident. More intentional.

I’m creating habits I can continue forever — not just for one season.

And honestly? That feels far more powerful than any quick fix ever could 💚
